Because the safety and enjoyment of our guests is our top priority, all adventures have a support ratio of one Guest Support Professional (GSP) for every three guests.

GSPs assist guests with medications, spending money, and prompts for bathing, hygiene, dressing and using the restroom. Guests who require any hands-on personal care for hygiene or medical reasons will need to bring a Direct Support Professional (staff) for their safety and well-being. Exceptional Adventures assesses the needs of our guests before each adventure to ensure we have the best support plan in place for them to be safe and make lasting memories.

Guests who live at home with family may bring their own personal care assistant (PCA) with them. The cost for the PCA is the same as the guest’s cost.

For Experiences and Excursions: Send three and participate for free! If you register three or more guests (who fit in our regular ratios of 1:3 or higher) for the same adventure, you can send an escort for free. Certain restrictions apply.

If a guest needs one-on-one support, please contact the Exceptional Adventures office at 412-446-0713 to make arrangements. The one-on-one support staff would attend at the same cost as the guest.

Most of our adventures are wheelchair accessible. We always include this on the itinerary for each individual adventure. Please look for a wheelchair icon like the one below or contact our office with any questions.
